Safety

 Certain safety precautions should be taken while using candles, these include:

1. Always put off a candle before going to sleep or leaving a room. Always keep an eye on  a burning candle

2. Candles should be kept far away from furniture, drapes, books, paper, carpets, decorations and other objects which catch fire easily.

3. The candles should be kept out of the reach of  children and pets. If  they are knocked down by mistake, they can cause a fire.

4. Avoid using candles in places with a strong draft , breeze or air current caused by a ceiling fan, as papers and other inflammable objects may be blown into the candle flame.

5. Candles should not be used for illumination while searching for stuff in a cupboards or for lighting a lantern or kerosene heater.

6. Water should never be used to put off a candle, since it causes the wax to splatter and the glass container may crack .
